A small senior team with a large machine behind it
Machina Totalis is a software development studio in Camarillo, California. We pair senior engineers with a fleet of AI coding agents, so a small team ships like a much larger one and every line still has a person accountable for it.
Our story
Why we built it this way
We build web apps, automations, and AI systems for businesses that need them to work on Monday morning as well as in the demo.
Over 2025 and 2026 the tools changed. AI coding agents became good enough to draft most of a feature, and confident enough to ship a race condition without blinking. We decided to run both halves as one system: agents do the typing in parallel, each in its own branch, and senior engineers decide what to build, review every change, and own production.
Machina Totalis is that system with a name on it. In Latin it means roughly “the whole machine”: people and software working as one. We hold ourselves to one rule above the rest: every claim we make, we can back up on a call.

You see everything
The repo is yours, so every commit lands where you can read it. Staging is live from day one, and you get a demo every week.
A person on every change
Nothing merges because a model said it was fine. A senior engineer reads it, runs it, and puts their name on the merge.
Outcomes over output
We measure a project by whether users can use it and the business can run on it, not by lines of code or hours logged. We will push back when a feature does not serve the goal.
Built for the next engineer
Typed code, tests on the paths that matter, monitoring, and a runbook. Whoever inherits it should not need us to understand it.
